| Facility | Welcome to the Kathleen Academy of Dance. The studio began in 1971 and has been teaching dance to tots through professionals ever since, producing numerous professional dancers throughout the years. The studio has developed dancers who have pursued professional careers in dance and theatre and have performed all over the world. Former KAD students can be found in casts of Broadway shows as well as members of National and International dance companies and touring troupes.
Our philosophy... Dance classes are a valuable experience for all students. Experiences in class will be a source of pride and accomplishment for the dancer. In addition to the physical skills acquired, students are exposed to artistic expression through dance, while learning and enjoying the various musical elements, an integral part of dance education. Beyond individual benefits, students learn to work within a group to achieve a common goal, encountering critical factors of cooperation and coordination, essential to successful group performance. Last, but not least, our students have fun! Many friendships and good memories are a product derived from children of similar age and interests spending time learning in a pleasant and active educational environment. Regardless of which path our dancers choose, the talented and dedicated staff at the Kathleen Academy of Dance will provide the highest quality dance education to its students. Our facility... Our beautiful facility features three spacious studios with raised wood floors, state of the art sound equipment, dressing room, Dance Boutique, and kiddie play area. All is handicapped accessible. Directions to the studio: From Somerville: Take Route 206 South into Hillsborough. Pass "Cost Cutters" and "McDonald's" on the right. Continue to next light at New Amwell Road, get into the left turn lane. Turn left into the "Towne Centre" shopping mall at the "Dunkin' Donuts". Kathleen Academy of Dance is at the end of the strip. From Princeton: Take Route 206 North into Hillsborough. Pass "Nelson's Corner" shopping center on the right (Amwell Road), go to the next light at New Amwell Road.
